VEROOT began in the field—not in a business plan.
Our connection to Korean wellness started long before the company itself. Growing up surrounded by tea culture and ceramics, wellness was never a trend. It was simply a way of life.
Studying Classical Chinese and Eastern philosophy deepened that perspective, shaping a belief that the things we bring into our bodies and our spaces should carry meaning. Later, running a plant shop provided firsthand experience in sourcing, quality, and the value of knowing where products truly come from.
VEROOT was founded by Seungeon Kim, a Korean wellness sourcing specialist based between London and Seoul.
Before launching the company, we spent months visiting London's leading retailers, cafés, hotels, and wellness spaces to better understand the market.
One thing quickly became clear.
While Japanese matcha was widely available, premium Korean matcha was almost nowhere to be found.
VEROOT was created to bridge that gap.
Today, we connect European buyers directly with trusted Korean producers, sourcing certified organic matcha from Jeju Island alongside carefully selected Korean wellness products.
